Play the hit board game on your computer

Secret Hitler is a video game that lets you play the popular board game of the same name on your desktop computer. The game is free to play and will only require your web browser. However, note that, like the original game, it requires at least five players to play.

Secret Hitler follows the gameplay of the physical board game. Here, there are two teams, the liberals and the fascists. Each will have the goal of enacting liberal and fascist policies. However, like Among Us, there is a traitor amongst the liberals, and one of them is Hitler himself.

How do you play this game?

As mentioned, the desktop Secret Hitler game follows the gameplay of the physical version. In the game, the year is 1932, and the place is pre-World War II Germany. The players are secretly divided into two teams: the liberals and the fascists. The latter will include the Hitler role. The goal is to enact policies: the liberals must have five while the fascists, six.

The fascist can also win if Hitler is elected Chancellor. Meanwhile, the liberals can win if they assassinate Hitler. The catch is that only the fascists know Hitler's identity. Moreover, the fascists can join the liberals, even Hitler. They can say whatever it takes to sow distrust among the liberals and have the latter assassinate the wrong player or elect Hitler as the Chancellor.

Secret Hitler is a multiplayer game that requires at least five players. All the games are played in rooms, either you can join one or create your own. If you opt to host a game, you can send your friends the room URL by clicking the Invite Players button. Note that you need to make the room visible to others to allow them access to it.

Should you play it?

Overall, Secret Hitler offers a convenient way for you to play the beloved board game. The app is easy to navigate and even allows you to play with random players by joining public rooms. However, as with the physical version, the gameplay can still be confusing. If you are not familiar with the mechanics, it will take some time to understand how it goes. Nevertheless, it's a fun experience.

PROS

  • Easy to create and join rooms
  • Supports five to eight players
  • Same mechanics as the physical board game version
  • Allows scheduling of games

CONS
